Thank you for joining The Sigil Hunt!
Over the course of 30 days from April 18th - May 17th, citizens of San Francisco took it upon themselves to seek out hidden runes-guiding themselves towards mysteries scattered throughout the city. There was no clear prize-no justified reason for seeking, yet they kept pushing forward, ushered onwards by the thrill of adventure.
This endeavor was the culmination of one man's work. Fueled by the passion of creating something to pull others out of their everyday schedule, he started creating an alternate reality game titled: "The Sigil Hunt".
The story was led on by a cryptic figure who called himself "The Hunt Master". The only characteristics that seemed to follow him were his love for adventure, mysterious nature, and desire for the players to follow in his footsteps. He is the guise behind the Hunt, and was a helping hand along the way for lost players to seek guidance from.
From the shores of Lake Merced, to the rolling hills at the Legion of Honor, all the way to the peak which Coit Tower rested on, the Hunt Master left tracks of his journey, noting down hints and riddles of which the players had to decipher.
Though the journey is now over, the spirit of the Sigil Hunt lives on in the players that participated. Strangers became teammates, buildings turned into labyrinths, and the mundane transformed into the magical. For thirty days, the streets of San Francisco became a map of which to find secrets hidden in plain sight.
The Sigil Hunt was never about the destination. It was about reigniting curiosity, about asking questions and chasing answers simply because you could. And though the runes may fade, their echo lingers—waiting for the next seeker to listen closely.
